It appears that Pittsburgh is the new Hollywood. TV series and reality shows have taken to Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania lately for its mountain scenes and cityscapes. Here are three recent television shows that have started filming in Pittsburgh within the last month.
Pittsburgh’s Recent Spotlight in Pop Culture
The fourth season of Cinemax’s “Banshee” began filming in nearby Vandergrift in May 2015, transforming office buildings into Banshee Public Library and the Banshee Sheriff’s Department.
NBC’s “American Ninja Warrior” filmed in Pittsburgh last month and aired for the first time on June 29th.
“Outsiders,” a WGN America drama, started filming in May, as well, using locations in Monroeville, Millvale, and a studio in the Strip District.
